Applied ABC Summer Program 2024

Come join the fun at one of our autism centers* where we’ll host educational group activities, games, and play therapy throughout the summer.

*The Applied ABC Summer Program is only available in Georgia, Maryland, New Hampshire, and New York.

What Kinds of Activities Do We Have Planned?

This summer, we’re hosting our fourth-annual Applied ABC Summer Program where children receiving our ABA services can learn together, make friends, and practice key skills in a group setting. Students will have the chance to participate in a variety of activities, games, and playstyles, including:

  • Group activities – Playing board, card, or active games

  • Sensory activities – Using sand/water tables, interacting with sensory bins, or blowing bubbles

  • Gross motor activities – Participating in musical chairs or tag

  • Fine motor activities – Stringing beads together or using clothing pins to pick up pipe cleaners

  • Unstructured activities – Playing with toys or visiting our outdoor playground

  • Parallel play – Playing near other peers

  • Reciprocal play – Passing a ball back and forth

Children attending a structured therapeutic program like the Applied ABC Summer Program can practice all sorts of useful skills, including:

  • Improved social skills, such as turn-taking, eye contact, making requests to peers, and following along with changes in play

  • Further developed gross and fine motor skills

  • Improved self-regulation from engaging in sensory and motor play

  • Strengthened bonds between staff and other clients

  • Having a safe space with other kids

Stay tuned on social media for any updates on states that may be added to our summer program.
